“We hired Ms. Hartwig-Davis to design a 3-story addition for our house in Cheverly in 2002. She explained to us at that time that she was a ‘green’ architect, which was a new phrase to use then. Despite the fact that some of her design plans would cost us more money due to her preference for working with environmentally friendly materials, she would not waiver in using other more conventional materials. She informed us of this stipulation at the beginning of our talks. We decided to proceed with Ms. Hartwig-Davis, although we could have saved money by using cheaper materials, and we are now very glad we did so. Her resolution almost 10 years ago to as she thought was right even if it meant losing a job is a quality that we admired then and still do now. We also now have a beautifully designed addition, which the town’s mayor thanked us in writing for building!”
