HD Squared Architects, LLC

HD Squared Architects, LLC is a small architectural practice located in Cheverly, Maryland.  Started in 1999 by Melanie Hartwig-Davis, AIA, LEED AP, B D+C, HD2 focuses it’s sustainable efforts by designing primarily residential additions, renovations, interior fit-outs and historic preservation projects around the DC Metro area.  Our strength is enabling occupants access to design integrity that nourishes their lives each and every day.  Materials are selected with durability, maintenance and recycling aspects in mind.  Water and energy efficiencies are considered and implemented at various phases of design and construction as well.

Other project experience includes Project Evaluation and Programmatic Planning for the Town of Edmonston’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG).   Utilizing 3-D studies from our existing conditions survey, HD2 aided in establishing a scope of work for solar installations.
