Mrs. Hartwig-Davis, AIA, LEED AP, B D+C, has emphasized the importance of sustainable building practices since architectural school as exhibited by her platform when she was elected a National Director of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS). Ms. Hartwig-Davis received her Bachelors of Architecture from Mississippi State University in 1995. She began her career at Bignell.Watkins.Hasser Architects, P.A. in Annapolis, MD. where she brought sustainable thinking to retail, housing, and civic projects throughout the central east coast. Upon receiving her MD Architectural license in 1999, she began her own architectural practice in Cheverly, MD. In the fall of 2008, she earned the title of LEED Accredited Professional to formalize her commitment to sustainability in architecture. Mrs. Hartwig-Davis has been featured in magazines, newspapers, and television and she continues to take a leadership role in sustainability as time allows by serving on planning and visionary committees such as the Cheverly Green Infrastructure Steering Committee. She recently resigned from the MD State Board of Certified Interior Designers in order to accept a four year appointment as a Prince George’s County Commissioner of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) which provides water and sewer services to over 1.8 million MD residents in Montgomery and Prince George’s County.
In addition to residential projects of every scale, Ms. Hartwig-Davis’ commercial experience includes multiple car dealer renovations, office renovations on Andrews Air Force Base, along with site and landscaping design at Potomac Yard Center.
